Media The court dismissed the case brought by Poland, concluding that article 17 is compatible with the freedom of expression guaranteed by the EU Charter on fundamental rights. Article 17 requires content sharing platforms to obtain the rights holder's authorisation for copyrighted works uploaded by their users but shields them from liability if they demonstrate that they have taken certain best efforts actions to prevent and to put an end to infringements under certain conditions. |
