Spectrum The United States telecoms regulator, FCC, adopted new rules on how operators in non-geostationary satellite systems should share spectrum. The new rules are focused on the protection of earlier-round systems from later-round systems to promote spectrum efficiency. In addition, the FCC established a sunsetting period of ten years for inter-round protection with the aim to encourage innovation and to support market entrants. |

Global Trends From mid-August 2023, digital platforms operating in Thailand, as well as offshore digital platforms targeting Thai consumers, must notify their activities to the country's Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA). The new law also specifies that large platforms must also comply with a series of transparency and fairness requirements. The new rules in Thailand are somewhat similar to legislative measures recently introduced in the EU and in other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. |
