Digital Economy, Media, Telecoms Mexico's all-new federal agency, the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency (ATDT), under the direct authority of the president, will step into the role of the former telecoms and broadcasting regulator, IFT. ATDT's remit is much broader than IFT´s, going beyond telecoms and broadcasting into areas such as cybersecurity, tech sovereignty, digital inclusion and more. |

Spectrum SUTEL, the country's spectrum regulator, awarded national licences in the 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 26/28 GHz bands to Claro (América Móvil) and Liberty. In total, the operators paid US$32.5m for 340 MHz in low and mid-bands and 800 MHz in bands above 24 GHz. The five local operators that participated in the auction paid U$1.5m for local licences. Winnings bidders will have to deploy over 3,200 antennas in total. |

Media Rita Wezenbeek (DG Connect) reassured members of the European Parliament Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) committee that the EU executive is advancing and enhancing its enforcement actions under the Digital Services Act. Ms Wezenbeek explained that the Commission is finalising its technical assessment of X's infringement proceedings, but she could not disclose the timeline or comment on the expected outcome. She also announced that the Commission plans to designate additional platforms as very large online platforms. |

Postal Ofcom, the UK communications regulator, imposed a £10.5m fine on Royal Mail for failure to meet its delivery targets for first class and second class mail in 2023/24. This is the second consecutive financial year in which Royal Mail was fined by the regulator for failing to meet its delivery targets under the universal service obligation. |
