Digital Economy European Parliament and Council agreed to postpone the application of rules for high-risk AI systems and introduce a new ban on AI practices regarding the generation of non-consensual sexual and intimate content (or child sexual abuse material). Co-legislators also clarified the competences of the AI Office for the supervision of AI systems based on general-purpose AI models.

Digital Economy In its first review of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), the Commission highlighted the positive impacts of the regulation, such as the opening of gatekeepers' ecosystems. Where the rules had not yet delivered results, the Commission often attributed this to the early stage of implementation of the obligations. The Commission also signalled that AI and cloud would be future focus areas. The review coincided with a European Parliament resolution calling for stronger DMA enforcement and raising concerns about digital sovereignty.

Spectrum Anatel awarded five regional 2x10 MHz licences in the 700 MHz band to regional operators Amazônia 5G, Brisanet, iez! and Unifique. The operators will pay a total of BRL 22.98m (US$4.37m) in one-off fees. Winning bidders must cover selected locations, including highway sections, in a deployment schedule with deadlines from December 2026 to December 2030.
